I don't need someone to help me with dailies or make food for me. It's nice when they do but not necessary. What I need is for DPS meter slaves to wait for the tanks to get aggro before going crazy. Against a boss it's usually not a problem but for AoE trash, too many DPS start attacking before the tank even gets there.

Knowing the fight and getting out of AoE like blizzards or void zones is another huge thing. Just don't play like an idiot and I'll be happy to heal for ya.

Great post. As a healer of the priest variety, I heartily agree with all that you said. While a pet peeve of mine is when people don't run back after wipes and I would be so very happy if I got sent cuttlefish in the mail from guildies, the thing that I find I appreciate most is a "thank you" after a res of a run. It doesn't happen often, so when it does happen, I really do know that the player appreciated my heals and my efforts.

Heya, I'm a tank: Death Knight. Just wanted to say, this is a perfect example of what Should happen. I thank you for posting this, as, with the permission and citation of anything on the internet, I am going to send this to some Very prominent guilds on my server, Lightninghoof (North American server).

Healers mean a lot to me. I try to do what I can, and (as I usually do it), go about to the lvl 30-60 priests to help them level. Make a friend or five, all priests, and you'll be rewarded later on. Nothing like 2 priests in your group.

:) Thank you Priests!

I'm a healer and this just made my day! I love running instances with dps (especially hunters!) that go out of their way to protect me. It makes a huge difference. I think what I appreciate the most is when someone thanks me or compliments me after a particularly difficult fight. It's nice to know that people think I contribute just as much as whoever happens to be tanking or topping the dps meters. Thank you for posting this!
